Nose Job

Today, Tyson decided to add a little drama to an otherwise typical Friday. Apparently, he is not aware that, just because his nose has a hole, does not mean that it is his job to fill it.
After breaking a beaded earring he chose to shove a shiny bead all the way up his left nostril. We attempted to blow it out to no avail it remained lodged way up there. So, we were off to urgent care.
The tricky fish (aka Tyson), was as happy as ever, tromping around the waiting room making friends with infectious children carrying knows what. And of course he was touching everything. Yikes!
Then came the fun of getting my little guy to hold still while the doctor shoved a light was up his nostril. Where was that shiny bead? It had disappeared. The Doctor's best guess was that Tyson had most likely swallowed it.
As a parting gift, Tyson found a dead grasshopper in the office. He proceeded to picked it up with his hands, and placed it on the exam table. I'm not sure the Dr. appreciated his offering.

  3. Oh WOW!!!! What is so exciting about putting things up noses and down ears. I did the ear thing and had to go to the dr. to, not fun. Maybe you will be finding it in his diaper...yuck!

  4. Perhaps the doctor did not appreciate the gift because even a tiny child could see a hideous dead bug on the floor!! Time for better housekeeping! :)

Poor Tyson, and poor you!! Thank goodness it went to his stomach and not his lungs. BY how if you looked closely you could've seen it in his poo. Perhaps that is for another post! :)

Little Bri bit a smiley face off a ball and swallowed it. 1 day later 2 eyeballs and a smiley face stared up at Big Brian through a sea of poo. Awesome.

Stories and adventures of motherhood. They never end...they are fun to review LATER on when the excitement dies down. Sorry you had to go thru that one. Remember Molly's mastermind peg up the nose? We were so lucky to have a dentist who put her on nitrous to get it out! Love you. Nice to see your new entry. Keep it up!

  6. That is too funny! Don't you love the hassle for nothing?? Kids totally keep us on our toes. How would you had known that he ever put the bead up his nose if you didn't see him do it?

  8. I've been thinking about you, and thought I'd check in here. It sounds like you've been having fun times. How is Tyson doing now? I hope that we will never have an incident like that in our family...but we probably will.

I wish you lived closer. I miss you!

  9. Yikes! That's no good! I can honestly say (and luckily) that my kids never did the swallow a quarter or put a marble in their ear or nose thing. I know I'm lucky in that way...but they made up for it with all the other catastrophes they caused! :)
