Sarah None

At birth, I was given no middle name. This was intentional, as it allowed the perfect spot to maintain "Shumway" or S. once I married.
Unfortunately, I took this very seriously.

I was jealous of long beautiful
"complete" names.
Alas, I was doomed to remain Sarah None until I married.
A friendly neighbor across the street loved to taunt me with this name. Somehow for me, it stuck. Due to this childhood silliness, I'm extraordinarily happy to use Sarah S. Foote. And I use the S like it's going out of style. I finally have a complete name and I am no longer Sarah None
(The photos are of my blessing day and wedding.)
Wendalee Shumway & Sarah None... I love this picture!

  2. Great pictures! You have always been hilarious. Me I said my name with pride and it came out "Wendalee shumway". Now that I think about it the way I prounounced it, the middle name gave me some hillbilly flair! :)

I am also Kayola None McLaws Skinner....all of my sisters are that way as well....My Dad said we would have plenty enough names when we got married...I was always sad when everyone told me their beautiful middle names....so my daughters got middle names...I just figured they couldn't come up with anything to go with the dorky name of Kayola seriously who the crap names their kiddo Kayola? So I was known as Kayola Krayola ALL THRU SCHOOL!

  5. I love having a middle name......although it has been tough because I get called by a nickname and not one of the names that was given to me. Andrea....I never heard, except by teachers on the first day of school and then had to explain that I go by my middle name Nicole or you can just call me Nikki along with everyone else. It got more annoying when I hit Jr high and High school cuz you had to do it in like 6 classes each semester. Oh the agony of having to explain why I go by Nikki.

  6. Nikki... you do have 2 great names! I love them both! As for Kayola, perhaps the similarity to Crayola has contributed to you being the creative and fun loving lady you are. Love you both!
I'm glad you guys are family! Adam was very smart when he chose to marry the Andrea Nicole.

  7. I am also of the no-name variety. Aaron Dillard used to call me Jenny "Blank" Shumway. It stuck after that. I HATED not having one, and have made the definite decision to give my girls (if I have any others...otherwise my girl) beautiful middle names. Thus: Brooklyn DIAN Crandell (after grandma). P.S. LOVED the pictures! Cute.
